On behalf of the Rootstown Elementary School staff, I would like to welcome our students and parents to the 2021-22 school year. The year promises to be filled with many opportunities for our students to grow academically and socially through varied instructional techniques and programs. It is our goal each year to plan instruction and programs to meet the needs of all types of learners.As we begin the year, I would like to share changes to the staff for the 2021-22 school year:
Staff changes for 21-22
Ms. Donze will be teaching second grade replacing Mrs. Svenson.
Ms. Hluch moves from 1st grade to 4th grade SC/SS.
Mrs. Byers will be teaching Kindergarten this year replacing Mrs. Lucas who will be teaching a Reading Intervention Program.
Miss Gearhart will be teaching 4th grade Math and Miss Pepper will be teaching 5th grade Math.
Mrs. Zink is the new 3rd grade Intervention Specialist and Mrs. Bing moves to 4th grade as an Intervention Specialist.

Open House 2021-22
Rootstown Elementary will host parents of grades K-5 on August 26, 2021.
5:30-6:30: 1st and 2nd Grade
6:00-7:00pm: 3rd grade
6:30-7:30: 4th and 5th grades
*Parents may pay school fees ($45) and drop off school supplies during this night.
Kindergarten Baseline Screening and Schedule
Screening dates: August 24th or 25th (students were scheduled during registration in April)
Classroom assignments for Kindergarten only will be posted on the west doors after 3pm on August 25th.
Half of Kindergarten attends school on September 2nd and the other half attends on September 3rd. All Kindergarten students attend school on September 7th.
