On behalf of the Rootstown Elementary School staff, I would like to welcome our students and parents to the 2018-19 school year. It was great seeing you during Open House on August 23rd. The year promises to be filled with many opportunities for our students to grow academically and socially through varied instructional techniques and programs. It is our goal each year to plan instruction and programs to meet the needs of all types of learners.
As we begin the year, I would like to share changes to the building and staff:
The building received new Chromebooks from our PTA. These will be used on the mobile cart in the first grade hallway. Thank you to the PTA for their generosity!
During the past few years, the district adopted the acronym “Rover PRIDE District-wide” which directed expectations for behavior in the building, including the bus. This year, we are starting the “Rovers R Respectful, Responsible and Role Models” as our new PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention Supports) theme. Please note the new signage throughout the building reflecting this theme.
Ms. Strope- Intervention Specialist in 4th grade replacing Ms. Heiskell
Ms. Byers-Kindergarten Teacher replacing Mrs. Leemaster
Ms. Voytkiv-Speech/Language Pathologist replacing Mrs. Thrasher
I am looking forward to a great school year. Please contact me with any questions or concerns during the school year.
Mr. Jeffrey Turner
